I did get one random comment once by someone who said she liked my 'neat blog', but I think she was just trawling for people to go visit her own blog. Which was very strange, btw, this woman poured hours of her life into making fabric cakes. The main point of which, as far as I could gather, was so she could look at them and not be tempted to eat them. More than a little bit food obsessive...
Yay for starting German lessons.
I know when I came back from India all those years back, I just couldn't help eavesdropping on everyone - it was just so wonderful to be surrounded by my own language and to know what they were talking about! It can be quite isolating to just not know what is going on conversationally around you.
That is VERY weird!! Yeah, I'm looking forward to starting Germ lessons- sadly not until 21/4 but it seems like we can go to as many of the 6 a week as we want to... we're not _quite_ sure about that, however!
You are right about the isolating bit... I'm just getting kinda used to having no idea what people are talking about. The other day M and I were out walking and a woman who lives in our building kept turning around and looking at us... I'm pretty sure that she spoke English and was excited to hear it! I know I always prick up my ears when I hear English speakers around.

Hey Stace,
