In order to develop a little audience participation, I have added a poll (look right) go on and vote- you know you want to! Feel free to add any airplane horror stories while you are at it.
I flew KLM in 1997 and it was the worst flying experience of my life!! The plane rattled from LA to Schipol; I was scared for an entire 12 hours (or however long it takes from there to there).
ta. On reflection, I'd like to vote for Air India as well as Garuda - can I do it twice? :-)
Air India is the only airline I've encountered which included detailed video instructions on how to use the plane's bathrooms. And sadly, judging by the state of the bathrooms a couple of hours into the flight, I don't think anyone was watching that bit...

It's a toss up between Garuda and Air India. I think Garuda was actually worse.
